Biography

Welcome

Growing up in a family of musicians, Christy Carlisle was inspired and encouraged from an early age to pursue music. During years of study, preparation, and performing in multiple recitals, her interests broadened to picking up the flute in addition to piano. Aside from her studies, Christy also served for years on the worship team at her church, playing both piano and flute. The flute would become her primary focus and major during her college years, while piano remained a continual love and constant study.

Christy holds her Associate in Music Education from Del Mar College and graduated with her Bachelor in Music from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. During college Christy studied piano under Dr. Shao-Shan Chen and Dr. Shane Anderson, and flute with Dr. Joy Kairies and Dr. Diana Sipes. She performed in various ensembles serving in roles as Jazz pianist for Jazz ensemble, principal flutist for Symphonic Winds, Flute Ensemble, and singing 1st Soprano in multiple choirs. While in school, Christy was selected twice to play flute for All-State band, in addition to being selected as All-State Jazz Pianist. She was awarded with “Outstanding Music Student of the Year,” a recognition awarded by the Music Department at Del Mar College, in addition to multiple scholarships given throughout the course of her college career.

For the past seven years Christy has had the privilege of working with musicians of all ages in the hopes of enabling them to grow in their musical abilities. Having served in many spheres within the music realm, she realizes pursuits derive from and seek to serve various purposes. Christy has every hope in enabling each student to reach their individual goals, whether that is serving in church, teaching, performing, or enjoying and appreciating music within the comfort of their own home.
